All to be found on Crunchyroll. Ready, set -
HANDYMAN SAITOU IN ANOTHER WORLD - why is he in another world? Who knows. It wasn't explained in the first episode, or if it was, I looked away at the wrong moment and missed it. The key point here is not your standard teenager-brand isekai, where he's here to Save The World. He's just puttering along, able to do a lot of little things (...like pick locks) very solidly, and not thinking much of himself, although his adventuring party/found family clearly all treasure him. It doesn't try to sweep you up in Plot right away: instead it woos you with silly and adorableness. So far, consider me wooed.
MORIARTY THE PATRIOT - look, I have a weak spot for various takes on Sherlock Holmes, okay. First episode has no Holmes in it whatsoever, unless you count glimpses of someone who might be him in the opening credits. Instead, it's all Moriarty as detective (!) until we hit a point where he's like, ah, actually I am a 'Crime Consultant' and facilitating the revenge of this one guy for his son's murder. Possibly he is also looking to cause the downfall of the British Empire on account of it being corrupt. I'm not sure if it'll sate my mystery-loving heart, but I'll definitely keep watching.
SHADOWS HOUSE - what the fuck is going on here? There's Horror Ambiance, and Class Issues, and a relationship between mistress and her 'living doll'/maidservant that they really want us to be invested in, except I am mostly just confused and not in an intrigued sort of way. Out of the queue it goes.
RPG REAL ESTATE - This is a more successful mash-up of D&D with HGTV than DRAGON GOES HOUSE-HUNTING, mostly because I did not spent the majority of the first episode wanting to kick the main character. Also because they managed a pitch-perfect parody of the 'no, you cannot get what you want for what you're willing to spend, not without significant drawbacks' HGTV trope - or maybe it's just a house-hunting truth. Fair warning: halfway through the first episode, there's a lot of nudity (bath scene with only suds to cover two female characters). It's not as fascinating at the first two series in my sampler set, but it's not an immediate boot, either. I'll probably try the second episode, if only because the title is First Business Trip to the Dark Lord's Castle, which sounds promising.
LAID BACK CAMP - so I've already watched the sequel, now it's time to watch the original! ...which is also a lovely, laid-back example of iyashikei anime. Discussions about how to camp! Cute dogs! More views of Mount Fuji per episode than anywhere outside a documentary! Absolutely continuing this one.
HOLMES OF KYOTO - on the one hand, this is not exactly a mystery show (except why Crunchyroll lists it as Season 2 when there's only one season), at least not in the first episode. On the other hand, I am illogically intrigued by this self-proclaimed "nasty Kyoto boy" - my notes go full Boston and declare him 'wicked nasty.' So he gets at least a second episode.
CHILLIN' IN MY 30S AFTER GETTING FIRED FROM THE DEMON KING'S ARMY - I'd mentioned this series before, but this time we decided to give it a try. Honestly, as someone who is :ahem: not in her teens any more, it's very reassuring to see a Definite Adult as the main character. (Even if there is a vibe that his decision, at the end of the episode, is made as much because of the main female character's generous cleavage as anything else.) It's staying in the queue partially for Competent Adult, partially because it's a one-season anime so there's a decent chance we can get through it some time this decade. :eye-dart:
