Um. Still not dead!
I wrote Witch Hunter Robin fic for a Yuletide pinch-hit - a somewhat angsty Amon character study, because canon is mostly from Robin's POV and doesn't bother to explain why Amon does much of anything. Also, fun re-watching something I hadn't watched in, mmm, at least fifteen years!
Speaking of things I hadn't watched/read in forever, my current shiny thing is Batman. Which is hitting way different than the first time it was my shiny thing, back in the early 90s after the first Tim Burton movie, when I still believed that cops had the best interest of people at heart, that you could solve problems by punching them, and that such a thing as "the criminal class" existed without being, y'know, horribly racist and/or classist. :wince:
On the bright side, I am now Fandom Old enough to actually appreciate that sometimes, especially in an inherently self-contradictory canon like DC, writing fanfic without having Read the Whole Thing/Watched All the Movies/TV Shows/Played All the Video Games is an absolutely valid choice and I applaud it. And not just because I have Opinions about certain graphic novels featuring Jason Todd.
(HUSH specifically. Is Jason's death a huge Thing for Batman or not? Because the back half wants you to think it is, but when Batman confronts the Joker in the first half, he's all about the assault on Barbara Gorden, and doesn't even mention Jason in his interior monologue.)
Have picked back up with my Nibble Resolution, which is to do at least five stitches of counted cross stitch and one sentence of writing per day. It isn't a lot, but it's more than zero, which is what I was doing before. Yay me.
Now to go try to catch up with my reading page. Eeep.
