So I picked up a PRIDE AND PREJUDICE sequel at Borders, as you do. It's not great, but at least it doesn't throw in stupid pointless author-inflicted conflict between Elizabeth and Darcy. (Or throw them into murder mysteries, or give Elizabeth paranormal powers, but that's a series and a discussion for another time.) Mostly it's fluff about how very, very happy they are just after they're married (:cough:), with occasional details that give away exactly which screen adaptation hooked the author on P&P. (The 2005 Keira Knightly, for those who care.)
In the back, there's a series of acknowledgments. The author thanks Jane Austen, the screenwriter and director of said movie, her husband and children, her fans, her editor...and "last and most important, I must give all praise, glory and thanks to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
Dot dot dot.
I should probably have expected it when such a point was made of Darcy's religious views (something canon leaves alone). But seriously, lady. You're thanking God in the acknowledgments for a smutty fanfic? Say what?
(Roommate asks, "Well, do children result?" Actually, yes. Still!)
