I have returned from Anime Boston!

I have a con report to write up for XamJapan - actually two, if you count the cosplay write-up. (I am perfectly willing to trot up to total strangers and ask to take a photo, where Katie is not. It's a critical skill for a cosplay photographer. ;-)) But until then, two stories!
One of the cosplay sets I saw was of Honey and Mori, from OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB, cosplayed by a dad and his son (? - presumably). I ran across them in the dealer's room: Honey was up on Mori's shoulders, doing his best 'cute with a teddy bear' routine.
Unfortunately, someone had hit their camera button at just the wrong moment, and caught him as he relaxed from the 'cute' pose. Honey promptly sat up straight. "No! Don't do that! You took a bad picture! Try again!" And he resumed the 'cute' pose so we could correct our error.
(Yes, I do have both the 'bad' and the 'cute' photos. Just need to resize so I can upload. :-D)
Second story: this year, I decided to cosplay Fujiwara no Sai from HIKARU NO GO. I commissioned the costume from an acquaintance, and it was in fact worth every penny. I think I got more pictures taken of me on Saturday than I have in my entire previous (admittedly short) history as a cosplayer, and more than a few people who asked me for a hug. (! - yeah, something I'm still not exactly used to with cosplay culture. I don't mind, so long as they're polite about it - which they were - but it's still sort of bemusing.)
Anyway! Late Saturday, in the food court, I ran into someone who asked for a photo, then commented that she had come as Sai some years ago, with a good friend as Hikaru.
Wait, I said. I recognize you...
We laughed a bit at the cycling of cosplay and anime fans, and she said she'd have to tell her Hikaru that she'd seen me. And off we headed on our separate ways.
