40 Days of Anime - Day 15

Oh dear. Another trope that I'm not a fan of, actually. I have very little patience for the kind of blank-slate, personality-free hero that seems to be at the center of a 'traditional' harem anime - see LOVE HINA. And even in situations where the hero has one woman he loves, and just sort of keeps...accumulating girls who love him (see SWORD ARTS ONLINE), I still wind up frustrated with the author/creator because what the fuck.
I'm more forgiving of reverse harems. Wife adores THE WALLFLOWER, which I haven't seen or read, although I know Kay loves it as well: my personal choice is OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB, mostly because it's excellent about both using and making fun of stereotypes.
