So I did my Saturday library mystery run, and then a grocery run. Came home and crashed out for a nap, as you do when there's time. (Well, okay, as I do.)
And I dreamed there had been a murder at![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
asliceofyankeepie's house. It was a guy that nobody recognized, or at least everyone said they didn't recognize, but it came out that most of them did. I was the detective, so I was the one asking questions and ferreting out clues. Kris had just come home, and it had come out that she, too, had had opportunity to kill this man! But I was sure it couldn't be her, so I went down to the garage to look for tire tracks, to see if someone else could have been there and driven away, and there they were! And it must have been the murderer, because everyone else in the family parked down near the end of their long winding driveway! ...and then I woke up because the apartment door had opened, as one of my roommates came home, so I never found out who the murderer actually was.
In other news, while waiting for the bus with my groceries, my mind wandered from one of the one-minute-mystery things I read ages ago (man in warm room stabbed to death, no murder weapon, just a puddle of water, how did he die? - stabbed with an icicle which is now melted) to AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER, and how the hell would a detective work in that world? I mean, the one time we see even the attempt at detecting, it's mostly played for laughs. But what if, say, during a peace conference, someone who was being obstructionist is found dead, with the aforementioned puddle of water? All Waterbenders (including the Avatar) would be under suspicion.
(Sad thing is, the biggest question would be who the detective should be. Sokka? He does have that hat. Sokka and Suki together? What about Mai? She would totally involve herself if there was a mysterious death. Or maybe an outside character altogether, which would provide an interesting perspective... :thwaps herself to make herself stop it:)
