jennaria: Kitty in a teacup (tea?)
So one of the things I like to do in my free time is play puzzle games. By 'puzzle games' I mean the kind of game that might include find-the-hidden-objects, but intersperses those with more complicated sorts of puzzles. The better grade of puzzle games weaves together these puzzles with a story of some kind, often a mystery but not always.

Unfortunately...well, I've gotten used to titles like STRANGE CASES: THE TAROT CARD MYSTERY, or SPECIAL ENQUIRY DETAIL: THE HAND THAT FEEDS. I read mysteries, and those are clearly mystery titles that are establishing they're in some kind of series.

TIGER EYE, PART I: CURSE OF THE RIDDLE BOX? That's cheesy enough, but the real frustration is in that 'part 1': you know going in that you aren't gonna get a proper resolution to the storyline, such as it is. Eh, whatever, as a title it's no worse than LOST LAGOON: TRAIL OF DESTINY.

But PUPPET SHOW: SOULS OF THE INNOCENT? With all appropriately Gothic imagery?

(It's actually a decently fun game, at least in the first hour - the site I use allows you an hour's trial before you have to buy. But still. SOULS OF THE INNOCENT! I'm trying to decide whether it would be better narrated by Vincent Price or Christopher Lee.)
