jennariaSo the fic I wrote for Yuletide was Yami no Matsuei (Descendants of Darkness), The Christmas Cake File.
I snagged this one from the pinch-hitters list, because YnM was one of my gateway anime back in the day. Honestly I thought I wrote for it before, but apparently not! The recipient asked for case-fic, and I'd been on a YouTube spree about missing persons cases, so I went looking for Japanese missing persons cases - and discovered that not only is it not handled by the police usually, the way it is in the US, but also in Japan there's a Thing of people voluntarily going missing. This cross-pollinated with one of my Least Favorite Christmas Songs, which is none-the-less way too appropriate for YnM. End result: angst! Toxic yuri! And all kinds of subtext between the two main characters, because of course there is, it's YnM.
