* We had a brief period where we could pause an evening's viewing of Olympics, then go back! And watch the rest of the evening! But then apparently Hulu and/or NBC realized what we were doing, and now all we get are single programs here and there. Boo! Boo I say!

* This is because I did not get to see Boyang Jin's free skate to Star Wars, seriously NBC why do you deny me. Also the French couple's free skate in Ice Dance is Not Appearing On The List. And even with the women's short program - for the love of heaven, we get Karen Chen and Mirai Nagasu's short programs, and the top two Russians (which, legit, especially as there was apparently some world-record-setting with the scores)...but the Canadian skater currently in third gets no love? Really? I mean, neither does Bradie Tennell, but she also was the first skater on the ice, so I think they assume (correctly, in our case) that everyone already saw her.

* (Of the people who we saw: I did adore the Shibutani sibs in Ice Dance. Like, don't get me wrong, Virtue and Moir are incredible, but having a non-white pair, who aren't going the romantic route...it's a beautiful change, above and beyond their skill level.)

* (And oh that poor French ice dance pair during the short program. Wife suggests that maybe the Ice Dance women should be, y'know, sewn into their costumes.)

* We've been kind of all figure skating, all the time, when we've been watching via Hulu. Tonight, no figure skating, so I will probably be watching skiing instead. And possibly working on the counted cross stitch project that was supposed to be, y'know, a Christmas present. Whoops.

*Saturday: we finally get to see BLACK PANTHER! I am so looking forward to this.

The bad thing is Papadakos (... yeah, that's not quite right, is it) was supposedly sewn in. Or rather someone was seen sewing that clasp shut right before they got on the ice, though obviously it wasn't a very good sewing in job. :p

Also, I have realized that part of why I was getting SO SALTY with NBC's commentators last night mispronouncing Sakamoto Kaori's name five times is that it's the Asian names that were butchered. They could learn the Russians' names' proper pronunciations, but not the Japanese? And then after all the "Kah-oh-ri"s leading up to and through her short program, suddenly they switched to all Surnames ... until the top two Russian skaters went on the ice, where it was suddenly FULL NAMES. And while it was kinda nice to see a featurette on a non-American, I wanted to strangle the presenter halfway through for just... ASKJEGtiybl totally other-izing Japanese culture and treating it like SUCH A THING that Mevedeva is into Jpop, Kpop, and Sailor Moon. e________________e

They've also apparently decided they need to explain the scoring system, the exact same way, at least 2-3 times per section of skaters, as if they think SOMEHOW people watching last night might still not having the least clue what those numbers and boxes up in the corner could POSSIBLY mean.

... I think I'm on the same bitter train. XD
