30: How many anime episodes is 'ideal' for you?

Probably single-season, so 13? Mostly because I trust single-season shows to have a clear, coherent story with a proper ending, as opposed to 'la de da, let's see how long we can milk this' (how is there an actual sequel to Naruto, dear lord). Also I am terrible at marathoning, and easily distracted, so the shorter a show is, the higher the probability I'll actually get all the way through to the end. :wince:

I thought I was the only one. 13 is definitely ideal.

Back in the day I could watch DBZ on badly dubbed (or undubbed) bootleg VCR tapes at 3 in the morning with my friends. I'm at the point now that I'll only watch a series when I'm assured they're done, and 26 episodes might still be too many.

Aw, hee! I admit I have this situation with a non-anime show, I am literally two episodes from completing the 1st season. And it's not like it's terrible and I don't WANT to see the episodes or anything, it's just one show out of the handful I watch at any given time that I've been watching alone.

I agree about the marathoning. There's been a few things like Sword Art Online that I managed just because W and the kids were marathoning it and I got to float in and out while doing other things. I really enjoyed Soul Eater to the point of actually sitting still and watching from beginning to end, and that only happened at first because W was watching it and the art style and concept grabbed me (and it caught me at a good time I guess). But I rarely venture deep into the world of anime these days anymore despite really loving animation because yeah, same.
