The other reason I've been sleeping like crap - I'm out of the habit of sleeping on my own. But Wife is home now, and sitting on me as necessary to keep me from over-doing it in general.

We still went out to see GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 this afternoon, which I very much enjoyed. Favorite part: Nebula and Gamora and Complicated Sisterly Relationships! Also Groot, because I am predictable and I like certain flavors of Small Cute Deadly things. Second favorite was probably the various Complicated Father-Son Relationships, also Rocket realizing that relationships with beings besides the ever-forgiving Groot are in fact complicated and may perhaps actually need work, WTF why wasn't he notified, he did not consent to this. Drax and Mantis trail in third. I'm not actually sure what was up with Drax. He didn't seem like the same Drax as in the first movie.

Yeah, Drax was way more Comic ReliefTM in this movie as compared to the first. Maybe because Ronan was gone? Easier to be more lighthearted and fun-loving when you've already defeated the one who murdered your family (and found a new one).

I know what you mean about having to get used to sleeping alone (or vice-versa)! Glad your wife is back!

Complicated father-son relationships indeed. I was in tears for most of the last interaction between Yondu and Starlord. And I love love the dynamic they built between Yondu and Rocket.

Related, we both (C. and I) commented how well they kept Kurt Russell's character under wraps. Nothing in the promos hinted at his true nature, and it made the reveal/pay out better, I think.

Also yay for the Wife being home. 😀
