40 Days of Anime - Day 25

25: What is an anime you regret watching?

In the sense of 'wow, nope, not watching that again', with links to rants as available:

MISS KOBAYASHI'S DRAGON MAID (see also: reasons why I don't always trust Tumblr's recs of femmeslash)
HIME-CHAN NO RIBBON (oh, old-school magical girls, how I want to love you, and yet...)
GOLDEN BOY (technically ecchi, mostly really kinda fucked up)
MAGICAL STAGE FANCY LA LA (the single most pointless magical girl anime I have ever seen, even more than HIME-CHAN)

...and one anime, the name of which I cannot remember, wherein Heroine is a PI (I think?) and Ambiguously Gay with her secretary/sidekick; there is random guy who is her love interest in the first episode (and gets kidnapped, natch); there are plant...things? with seeds or flowers floating in the air, and if one lands on you, Bad Things happen?; and Heroine is lured to a spot by Villainness, cue really nastily visceral violence-with-rape-overtones scene. EDIT: Found it! It's MNEMOSYNE.

I don't understand the uncritical love of MISS KOBAYASHI'S DRAGON MAID either. Just the clips I've seen put me off.

In all my travels since school, whenever I run across a particularly odd or disturbing scene in animation (particularly the older stuff, since a lot of the inbetweening is done digitally these days), I always think "people had to draw this. Over and over and over."
