Continuining adventures, etc.

New job: so far, so good. They like me, which is always nice. (Seriously, Boss-lady complimented me on coming up with the answer to a not-particularly-complicated problem I'd had like I'd solved something big.) On the other hand, they have no tea. (Or coffee. Or silverware. Or glasses.) Back on the first hand, they have mandatory breaks at set times, which is on the first hand mostly because it's kind of nice to stop unstapling mail after a couple hours and being sent to go decompress for fifteen minutes or so.

I buried Thomas on Monday afternoon. I'm coping mostly by not thinking about it, and cuddling Mariposa a lot.

Mariposa appears to have no problems with this. She sits next to me or on me whenever I'm home, and objects to the fact that I don't sleep down where she can get at me. To make up for this, she's decided to serve as my alarm clock, which goes off at least a half-hour earlier than my actual alarm clock and doesn't have a snooze button. :shakes head ruefully: I just hope she doesn't continue this on the weekend. Not that it matters too much if she does: bell choir is swallowing my next three weekends whole.

I answered a meme on [personal profile] thesilentpoet's journal. The result is:

01. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
HIKARU NO GO: [profile] mirabellawotr's screencap recaps.
CAMPION: The BBC adaptation, starring the glorious Peter Davison.
LABYRINTH: Um. The movie itself? I first heard of it via a review in a kid's magazine, which also had a review of LEGEND, of all things. One of these things is not like the other...

02. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
For all three of them, I think the answer is pretty much the same: while I like all three of them, I'm not sure I'd call them my 'primary fandom.' Ironically, this is a good thing. Primary fandoms burn out. These won't.

03. Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
HIKARU NO GO: Hmm. Probably the Pro Exam arc, both because Hikaru gets to kick Go ass and because of the rich subtext. ('Hi, Shindou, I'm so obsessed with you that I will TRAIN SOMEONE ELSE to play you, so I can find out how strong you are that much earlier.' 'Good! Come to me, Touya!' Oh, boys.)
CAMPION: I'll always have a soft spot for Look To The Lady, just because Campion is so wonderfully, amiably, tricksily Campion. But I love Amanda just as much, so I'll probably plump for Fashion In Shrouds, with all its problems. (Um. Yes. Need to finish writing up that review.)
LABYRINTH: :raises one eyebrow: It's a movie. But I'll admit that Jareth lured me in from his first appearance. And if that didn't work, the masked ball...uh. Yeah. (I'm maybe a bit predictable.)

04. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
:cough: Yeah, a little.

05. Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
Neither Hikaru No Go nor Labyrinth are hurting for fans, so eh, don't care either way. Campion, definitely. He doesn't get enough love.

Comment and I'll pick 3 of your fandoms for you to answer these questions!
