I'm not sure if it's that I've watched (and enjoyed!) old-school Doctor Who, and Sapphire And Steel, and Man From U.N.C.L.E., and other such shows from a similar era, so the special effects and the occasionally over-the-top acting doesn't hit me the way it might otherwise? :spreads hands: Heck if I know.
